When you need to repair just a small patch of broken concrete, a full replacement may not be necessary. At Cutting Edge, we offer sierra stone and rubber stone patchwork to fix these problems. Sierra Stone/Rubber Stone can both be laid over ugly cracked or broken concrete. See what makes each product the perfect solution for your concrete issues!
Sierra Stone is an epoxy-based system that is mixed on-site and troweled down to a smooth finish, normally completed in a single day. The Stones are natural pebble stones from river beds from around the world. There are thousands of combinations of stone to select the desired color and effect you are looking for. We have a base of stone colors that we can mix to any combination. The finished product is chemical resistant, easy to clean, and more durable than the concrete it covers. This makes it a perfect overlay for outdoor applications such as Driveways, Pool Decks, Patios, Walkways, Retaining Walls, and much more. Sierra Stone also has numerous interior applications. Concrete is a structural material used in most basements and garages. The application of Sierra Stone to the basement or garage floors makes these surfaces impervious to liquids, stains, and odors. It’s awful to imagine your basement flooding but if it did, your flooring cleanup involves a Shop-Vac and bleach. There’s no musty carpet, moldy laminate, or rotten subfloor to haul out!
Sierra offers Durability, Versatility, and Beauty. Where it differs from Sierra Stone is in its texture—Rubber Stone is flexible and has a softer touch. This creates a cushioning effect to minimize the effects of impact and fatigue from standing, walking, running, and playing on this surface. Rubber Stone consists of small chips of rubber and a polyurethane binding agent, and this combination gives the material flexibility and durability. Rubber Stone is a LEEDs (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) contributing recycled product that utilizes post-consumer waste: 25 square feet of the installed product keeps 3 tires out of the landfill. A typical single-car driveway keeps 60 tires from reaching the landfill!! It is ideal for substrates that move or shift including decks, paving stones, asphalt driveways, and concrete. Just like Sierra Stone, Rubber Stone can also be applied on a wide variety of interior surfaces. It works extremely well in basements, laundry areas, playrooms, and exercise rooms. This product is also exceptionally durable and can withstand the same harsh conditions that the tires on your car can endure—hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, and heavy traffic.
